My Inner Child

While writing a letter to my inner child, and talking about sorrows and pains, I discovered that I’ve carried her alive inside me all this time, now happy and grateful, and that she sometimes beats louder than my own heart. I share with you an excerpt of my words and the honest inspiration for this work:

“Did I once tell you that you are daughter of the rain? Of April downpours, of the green that recolors the landscape. Taurus like the earth, but connected to water, because you have always been fertile ground. (…) I remember you happy and much loved, but also small and scared.

I saw how your fears and pains became reality, (…) then we disconnected for a while. I’m sorry for that. (…) But do you remember that night when, crying, I took a pencil and thoughtlessly began to draw a botanical heart? As if my tears were the rain, the paper the dry earth, and you, once again, alive inside me through those strokes, beating in that drawn heart.

Since then, I’ve felt you closer than ever. (…) And I will continue to find you, every day that a pencil or a brush is in my hands.”
